I've worked 3 days in my new office now, and I think I'm getting the hang of it... First day, I was facing the LH wall, as planned, with the window to my left. I know it's only half an inch slope from back down to front, but I felt like I was spending the entire day trying to sit upright and stop falling downhill. I had a really stiff left shoulder and left side of my neck, so after considering whether it might just be aches and pains from heaving furniture around, I decided it wasn't and my sitting position would have to change. I came in after work and mentioned to Dave, and he said, come on then, let's move it around.
We went out to move stuff around and I had to banish Dave because there wasn't room for him and everything else. I moved the shelves and drawer unit out of the way then, rather than call him back, I did the pivot followed by crawling under the desk and moving it on my back so it was then positioned against the back wall. Reorganized all my gear, then left for the day. Yesterday, much better, but still some wrist pain from mouse and not quite feeling right, so I moved the laptop to the LH side of the monitor (which is taking some getting used to after a year the other way around) and tried that. Today, I moved the little bamboo organiser to next to the shelves and pushed the mouse mat back, taking the strain off my wrist, and I think that might be the settled position. All I need to do now is find my Kensington lock so I don't have to bring in the laptop every night, and install the other blinds. Then, of course, all the outside trim, the storm braces and the roof membrane...
