Digging and trim staining today. A joint effort created a deep enough trench in the corner to traverse the gap from the fence to the cabin. While Dave played with that, I got on with staining all the trim we'd need for the roof, and the storm braces. I created myself a nice production line setup, using the Dunster plastic and a couple of the heavier packing pieces as spacers on the garden table, and... well... got on with it.
I counted out the interior trim pieces and put them inside the cabin so they wouldn't end up green. Storm braces first. Did one, then realised the afternoon would go much more quickly if I did multiples of the same size, rotating each face in turn en masse, and not forgetting the ends. Worked fine up to the rear fascia trim, when it was time to go one at a time again. I moved some of the dryer pieces at the back to the old hanging wardrobe rack to make more space as I needed it. Dave was busy burying cables and doing things with ditches, so I left him to it. Sat down to a well deserved beer once everything was stained, and didn't like the look of the incoming grey clouds, so I decided to move all the touch-dry pieces back on to the blue tarp and wait a bit longer for the more recent ones to dry. Gave it another 20 minutes, wrapped everything up and came inside.
